Repost, because the history of how much content on the old post has come and gone while I’ve been Kinja’d is just getting out of hand and I’m not sure how many people saw this. This will be the last of my really mixed up content.

Here is a strange one. For whatever reason, the best DOTS of the year has come on a miserable rainy March day! And I do mean good.

Why am I sharing the road with classic Jeep Gladiators and F100s in such terrible weather? Even the boring cars were interesting: the Altimas, Camrys, and Accords had two doors; WRXs, Imprezas, and Celicas came out in alarming numbers; soccer moms were driving R classes and mint aerostars; the sundry muscle cars were ragtops in the rain, everything from Cadillac XLRs to Nissan Skylines filled the parking lots; even an IS Sportcross and a Regal TourX made an appearance.

Strangely enough, since the post originally went out, I saw a different factory fresh Aerostar in the same junction as yesterday. And my friend also saw an IS300 Sportcross across town at the same time. And there were just so so many two door Altimas driving around yesterday. Just weird.

I think people have just decided to drive their cool cars before they die of Coronavirus.

That has got to be a desirable plate! This automatic RHD Supra sat outside a high end tuning shop I had never paid much attention to before. I like the understated look of the dark purple combined with the white wheels.

Rain + crappy smartphone camera = blur

I know this is just a regular four door Skyline, but anything imported is extremely rare in my neck of the woods. And this was a manual as well! I thought this was very well put together, not being too flashy but clearly something that doesn’t belong on our streets. The wheels in particular were very nice, with subtle camber and great chrome accents. Also, why on earth is there a rear wiper?

I parked next to a guy who was also checking out the Skyline. He and I talked for quite a while, and the conversation eventually gravitated to his very clean Prelude. He attacked the notion that it drives like a Civic, and explained the amazing torque boost of V-Tech to me. Neat!

Focusing is hard in the rain. Especially when this guy looks at me like I’m going to bust him. Moonwalk into the sunset, my dude!

Cadillac XLRs are, of course, the uber rare badge engineered Corvette. Somehow, I’ve seen two in as many weeks. Strangely, the most striking thing I noticed was the wacko trunk hinge. Perfect for loading golf bags without spraining a hip or bumping your gray-haired head?

Kinja'd!!!

This somehow feels like RallyDarkstrike made a Humdrum 2.0 and spiced it up. Except for the automatic gearbox, I feel like he would really like this. Even more so if it was the mind bendingly rare coupe body style.

There were, of course, so many more that got away, including a Jeep gladiator and a beautiful orange F100. So why do you think ever yone brought their babies out in some absolutely pouring rain?

UPDATE: The local Kroger is at it again!

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

First, I saw that lovely yellow Land Cruiser leaving the parking lot again. The white convertible one was nowhere to be seen this time.

Then I saw this CRZ. An automatic, sadly, but it matched the Solara convertible next to it. I like that sticker, “stay weird.”

Nice lightbar. Subarus are much less common in the south, where AWD is not nearly as useful. You can also see the interesting facade of the local Kroger behind. There is an office in that huge window.

Kinja'd!!!

The Corolla hatch is seriously good looking. Sadly an auto, but that C pillar is really cool partially blacked out.

Ooo, cool Elantra! Not sure the red stripe fits with that gold-ish color, but the stripe and those mirrors look cool!

I’ve actually thought about putting some color on my mirror caps as well! Maybe color-matched rims too....thought no idea what rims...my paint color is a very hard one to match. I was thinking white or bronze rims...but who knows what that would look like!

RHD JDM imports are cool! There aren’t many here in Nova Scotia either, but probably more than you see...yay for 15-year import laws!

Here are some of the Japanese imports I’ve spotted around herein the last year or two:

I believe the XLR had a folding hardtop, that would explain the weird trunk hinge.

Complementary colors are always difficult, but I think that subtle vinyl (?) stripe could work well. The mirrors might have been painted not wrapped , but I couldn’t tell.

Cool spots ! This is at least 50% of the RHD I’ve seen outside of car shows, since East Coast is very far away from Japan and tuner culture isn’t as strong here. I did get to sit in my neighbor’s RHD Jag though, with the tightest engine bay I’ve ever seen. He said it was a straight six “out of an E type,” probably contemporary. Unfortunately, the best I can do are these crappy screenshots from a video.
